希腊前总理遭遇邮件炸弹袭击

Lucas Papademos, the former Greek prime minister who was a leading player in his country’s troubled financial bailout, has been injured in an apparent letter bomb attack.

希腊前总理卢卡斯?帕帕季莫斯(Lucas Papademos)在一次明显的信件炸弹袭击中受伤。他曾经是希腊陷入困境的金融纾困的重要人物。

Mr Papademos was hit by a blast when he opened an envelope while in his car in central Athens on Thursday. His driver and a security guard were also wounded. Greek authorities said their injuries did not appear life-threatening.

周四在雅典市中心，帕帕季莫斯在车上打开一个信封时被炸弹击中。他的司机和一名保镖也受了伤。希腊政府表示，他们的伤势似乎没有生命危险。

The 69-year-old economist and central banker became caretaker prime minister in 2011 in the turmoil of the country’s debt crisis, when he oversaw the largest debt restructuring in history and helped secure a 174bn rescue plan from sceptical European partners and the International Monetary Fund. He was previously a vice-president of the European Central Bank.

The explosion happened just a few minutes after Mr Papademos left the Bank of Greece, where he was meeting Yiannis Stournaras, the bank’s governor. Mr Stournaras visited Mr Papademos in hospital and described the attack as “cowardly”.
