稳字当头 我国一季度GDP同比增6.9%

China's economy got off to a rosy start in the first quarter, with gross domestic product (GDP) growing at 6.9% year-on-year, said the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) last Monday.

国家统计局上周一表示，一季度我国经济开局良好，国内生产总值(GDP)同比增长6.9%。

This beat previous market expectations of 6.8% and came well above the annual growth target of around 6.5% set in this year's government work report.

这一数字超出了此前6.8%的市场预期，且远高于今年政府工作报告中所制定的6.5%左右的年度增长目标。

GDP growth in the first three months remained steady at 0.2 percentage point higher than a year ago, showing a stabilizing trend in the economy, analysts said.

Although consumption growth dropped slightly, an uptick in infrastructure investment and a higher export growth have contributed to the stable growth.
