教育部发布通知 高校扩招农村生贫困生

China will continue to implement a special college enrollment program for students from rural and poor regions in 2017 and key colleges and universities in the country will recruit more such students, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Education.

教育部近日发布的一份通知称，2017年我国将继续实施高校招收农村和贫困地区学生专项计划，国内重点高校将招收更多农村和贫困地区学生。

According to the special program, key universities at national and provincial levels enroll students from targeted areas to give students from rural and poor regions more access to quality higher education.

根据该专项计划，国家级和省级重点高校面向目标地区招收学生，以扩大农村和贫困地区学生接受优质高等教育的机会。

In a special national program, universities will enroll 63,000 students from underdeveloped regions in 2017, covering impoverished counties, key counties in the national poverty relief plan as well as some areas in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

2017年，国家专项计划将招收6.3万名来自欠发达地区的学生，实施区域涵盖特殊困难县、国家级扶贫开发重点县和新疆维吾尔自治区部分地区。

Universities in a special regional program plan to enroll 10% more rural students in 2017 than in 2016.

地方专项计划今年计划招收的农村学生数量比2016年增加10%。

The circular also called for the setting up of a strict examination system to ensure the quality of candidates.

此外，该通知还呼吁建立一个严格的考试制度，以确保候选学生的质量。
